Junior Ranger Program Booklet

2013

The 2013 class worked with the education staff at the Adams National Historical Park in Quincy, Massachusetts (birthplace of John and John Quincy Adams and one of the few “urban” parks in our National Park system) to design two booklets for young visitors (ages 6–8 and 9+). The booklets were designed as fun and educational workbooks to occupy and teach the younger members of families who tour this homestead-based site.

“Your students, through site visits, research, and collaborative conversations with park staff, captured the essence of the park story and adeptly translated that information into two beautifully designed and eminently entertaining Junior Ranger Booklets. This project was truly a collaborative effort that demanded effective communication, listening skills, compromise, and determination and focus. Your students exemplified all of these attributes. We had the added bonus of working with a group of students who were truly a pleasure to work with.”
